DeerHacks is University of Toronto Mississauga's annual hackathon where hackers of all levels are welcome to join us for a weekend of prizes, development, and innovation. Organized by University of Toronto Mississauga (UTM)'s Mathematical and Computational Sciences Society (MCSS) with events and workshops provided in collaboration with numerous UTM clubs, we welcome you to join us in our annual end-of-year celebrations and our second DeerHacks Hackathon!

This year, DeerHacks will take place on the weekend of April 28 - 30, 2023. The sign up period will be from March 27 - April 20, with two rounds of acceptances sent out near the deadline. Keep an eye on this page and our socials for any updates ;)

Participants will be able to attend workshops, competitions, and fun activities to enjoy throughout the hackathon. Participants will also have the opportunity to present their final project to a panel of experienced judges and industry veterans. DeerHacks will enable you to learn something new, network and build connections!

DeerHacks is targeted towards students of all skill levels who are eager to learn and meet new people. Hackers must be enrolled in a post secondary institution, but not limited to University of Toronto, to be eligible for registration and are able to participate individually or in a team up to four people.

You will need a GitHub & Devpost account under your name to be in contention of the hackathon prizes. Joining our DeerHacks Discord server is highly recommended so you will be able to receive hackathon updates and access to our network of mentors and participants. Most importantly, bring a sleeping bag to get comfy, and don't worry about getting hungry; We will provide all the food and accommodation throughout the entire event :)

DeerHacks aims to provide hackers with the best experience and we believe an all in-person event best reflects this virtue. Please ensure that you confirm your registration during the event kickoff so that you and/ or your teammates are eligible for contention.

Note: The vast majority of events will take place in-person but we may provide a few online workshops so keep an eye out for the schedule!
